Updated 27/07/2017
    Players
  1. This Competition is open to persons aged 18 years or over resident in the UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland. Proof of age and identity may be required. Entry to the Competition is free.
  2. Employees of Hestview Limited and Infinity Works Consulting directly involved in the operation of the Competition are not eligible to win prizes.
  3. In order to enter the Competition players are required to register a Sporting Life Pick 7 account on pick7.sportinglife.com or its related mobile apps (the “Mobile Apps”). Only one account is allowed per person. Multiple accounts will be closed. Only one entry per week is allowed per person. If the Promoter has reasonable grounds to believe that multiple accounts have been opened by or are under the control of the same person, all such accounts shall be closed and all entries by such player and/or accounts will be disqualified from participating in the Competition or receiving any prizes. Players are required to register in their own name and any player found to be registering in the name of any other person will be disqualified.
  4. Players will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and agreed to be bound by them when entering this Competition. These terms and conditions will apply for the duration of the Competition
  5. In addition to the use specified above, the Promoter (Hestview Limited) will use each winner’s, and each entrant’s personal details for the purpose of administering this Competition. By opting in to receive marketing communications, you agree that Hestview Limited, Sky Betting and Gaming and their group companies may use the details you give us to contact you about each of our products and services that may be of interest to you. You can change your direct marketing preferences by contacting us on 0330 024 4777 or support@skybet.com. You can also click on the "unsubscribe" link in direct marketing emails from us.
  6. The Competition
  7. To take part in the Pick 7 Competition, a player must select one horse in all seven Pick 7 races and also submit an answer to the tie-break question before submitting their Pick 7 entry.
  8. Pick 7 selections must be made before the official scheduled off-time of the first Pick 7 race.
  9. Players can edit their Pick 7 selections up to the official scheduled off-time of the first Pick 7 race.
  10. If a player selects a non-runner, their selection automatically transfers on to the SP favourite in that race. If there are joint or co favourites in that race, their selection becomes the joint or co favourite with the lowest racecard number.
  11. The Competition closes before the start time of the first race in the Competition. Once the weekly competition has closed entrants cannot change their weekly predictions. Once an entry has been submitted, it can be changed before the closing time via the Website or Mobile Apps
  12. The Pick 7 prize winners will be determined as follows:
    1. Saturday’s Jackpot Competition: In order to win the Saturday Pick 7 Competition Jackpot Prize of £25,000 (unless otherwise specified), a player must correctly select the 7 winners of the Pick 7 races. If two or more players select all 7 winners, then the winner is the player who gets closest to the answer of the tie-break question. If a tie-break cannot settle players, then the competition prize will be split equally amongst those players. The £25,000 prize (unless otherwise specified) can only be won if all seven Pick 7 races are run (no abandoned races). See clause 13 below for prize details if any Pick 7 race does not run.
    2. Saturday’s Jackpot Consolation: There is a £1,000 jackpot consolation prize available to a player who picks 7 winners but loses out on the jackpot prize in the tie-breaker. The £1,000 consolation prize will be awarded to the player who submitted their Pick 7 entry earliest of those players who picked 7 winners but missed out on the jackpot prize in the tie-breaker. The time of entry will be determined as per the timestamp on each player’s entry held on Racecaller servers, and the timestamp will reflect the player’s final entry time after any editing of the entry before the game round has closed.
    3. Game Consolation: If there is no winner of Saturday’s Pick 7 Competition Jackpot Prize (see clause 11.i), then a Consolation Prize of £1,000 (unless otherwise specified) will be awarded to the best performing player. If there is no winner of the Pick 7 Midweek Money Jackpot Prize (see clause 11.IV) then a Consolation Prize of £100 worth of Free Bets (unless otherwise specified) will be awarded to the best performing player. The best performing player is decided by the performance ranking, in descending order, below:
      • 6 wins, 1 placed
      • 6 wins, 0 placed, 1 unplaced
      • 5 wins, 2 placed
      • 5 wins, 1 placed, 1 unplaced
      • 5 wins, 0 placed, 2 unplaced
      • 4 wins, 3 placed
      • 4 wins, 2 placed, 1 unplaced
      • 4 wins, 1 placed, 2 unplaced
      • 4 wins, 0 placed, 3 unplaced
      • 3 wins, 4 placed
      • 3 wins, 3 placed, 1 unplaced
      • 3 wins, 2 placed, 2 unplaced
      • 3 wins, 1 placed, 3 unplaced
      • 3 wins, 0 placed, 4 unplaced
      In the event of a tie, the winner will be settled using the tie-break question. If a tie-break cannot settle players, then prize will be awarded to the player who submitted their Pick 7 entry earliest of those players, who are tied for first place and achieved a correct tie-break answer. The time of entry will be determined as per the timestamp on each player’s entry held on Infinity Works Consulting servers. The timestamp on a player’s entry will reflect the time that the player submitted their entry. If the player edited their entry after first submission but before the game round closed then the timestamp will reflect the time that the final edit was confirmed by the player. The £1,000 prize (unless otherwise specified) can only be won if all seven Pick 7 races are run (no abandoned races). See clause 14 below for prize details if any Pick 7 race does not run.
    4. Midweek Money Jackpot: For midweek rounds (Sporting Life Pick 7 - Midweek Money) the Jackpot Prize will be £1,000 (unless otherwise specified).
    5. Midweek Money Jackpot Consolation: The consolation prize for midweek rounds will be £100 worth of Free Bets. This will be settled following the same procedure as the normal consolation prize (see 11.III).
    6. Additional Prizes: Additional prizes and/or specials may be introduced during the Competition at the discretion of the Promoter. These will be in addition to the prizes outlined above. In the event that additional prizes are introduced, the Promoter will publish and notify players of any additional terms and conditions as they may be applicable.
  13. The winning distance that decides the tie-break question is settled as per Sportinglife.com.
  14. If any Pick 7 race is postponed, abandoned or not completed the race will be considered void. If only six Pick 7 races are completed for any reason during any round, the Jackpot Competition prize available for that round will be reduced to £500. The Bonus Prize (if applicable) will not be available to win. If only five Pick 7 fixtures are completed during any round the Jackpot Competition prize available for that week will be reduced to £250. If four or less Pick 7 fixtures are completed during any Pick 7 round, the prize available will be £100. If 6 or fewer races comprise a Pick 7 game round, then the Jackpot Consolation will not available.
  15. If any Pick 7 race is postponed, abandoned or not completed, the race will be considered void, and no players will be eligible for the Weekly Consolation Prize.
  16. Free bet prizes will not be offered to players who have had an account suspended or closed by Sky Betting and Gaming for any reason.
  17. There is no cash alternative to the non-cash prizes and unless agreed otherwise in writing the prizes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  18. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prizes (or any part of them) for a prize of equivalent or greater monetary value if this is necessary for reasons beyond its control.
  19. The Promoter will not be liable for prizes that do not reach the winners for reasons beyond its reasonable control.
  20. Winners
  21. Winners will be notified by email or telephone registered on their account. It is each player’s sole responsibility to ensure that their contact details are up to date. Winners will be required to verify (with evidence satisfactory to the Promoter) their age, identity, residence and other requested verification information to the satisfaction of the Promoter before they are eligible to receive a prize. Any public announcement (including on Sky properties (TV, online etc.)) will be pending verification unless otherwise stated and should not be considered final confirmation.
  22. If any player is not able, for whatever reason, to accept a prize, verify their registration information to the satisfaction of the Promoter, has been found to have breached these terms and conditions by the Promoter or cannot be contacted within five (5) Business Days (a day other than a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday in England when banks in London are open for business), the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that player (and their eligibility to receive any prizes under the Competition) and award the prize to another participant, if applicable.
  23. Entry into the Competition constitutes permission for Hestview Ltd and/or their associated, affiliated, partnered and/or subsidiary companies to use the names and photographs of participants for publicity purposes at its discretion. All winners may be required to participate in such publicity without further compensation as the Promoter reasonably requires.
  24. Allow 45 days for prizes for payment and delivery of prizes.
  25. Submission of entries

  27. Limitation of Liability
  28. Except in the case of death or personal injury arising from its negligence or in respect of fraud and so far as is permitted by law, the Promoter and its associated and partner companies and agents exclude responsibility and all liabilities arising from:
    1. any postponement, cancellation, delay or changes to the prizes, promotions, Competition or relevant racing fixtures beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control;
    2. any technical failures or unavailability of the Pick 7 Website, Mobile Apps or other related platforms;
    3. obvious errors or omissions relating to the awarding of prizes; or
    4. for any act or default of any third party supplier including without limitation errors relating to fixtures and scoring data.
    5. The terms and conditions of any third party supplier will apply to the prize where applicable.
  29. If any provision or part-provision of these terms and conditions are or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted. Any modification to or deletion of a provision or part-provision under this clause shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of these terms and conditions.
  30. Promoter
  31. The Promoter's decision is final and legally binding on all entrants in relation to all aspects of the Competition including (without limitation) allocation of the prizes and no correspondence will be entered into. Entries that do not comply in full with the Competition’s rules or terms and conditions will be disqualified and will not be eligible to receive any prizes.
  32. The promotion is governed by the laws of England and Wales and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

When you create or log into an online account via the Sky Games websites, you agree to our use of cookies as set out in this Policy. If you would like to learn more about your cookie settings, how to manage these cookies and/or how to opt-out from the cookies being set, please see the section "Controlling My Cookies".

What are cookies and how do they work?

Cookies are small bits of text and numbers that are downloaded onto the devices you use to receive Sky Games content, products and services and access online information. Your browser makes these cookies available every time you visit the website again, so it can recognise you and your device and can then tailor what you see.

What do we use cookies for?

Cookies play an important part in the day-to-day functioning of websites and other online content. Cookies help your device or browser to access information, identify you as a user (for example, so we can keep you logged into your account when you navigate around the websites) or use certain features (for example, you want to reset your PIN or User ID) when you use the Sky Games websites. We also sometimes use other cookies to enhance your experience (for example, by showing more relevant games based on your previous activity). We do not use cookies for any reason that does not:

  • Make adverts and other content more effective and relevant to you.
  • Ensure we can pay our affiliate partners correctly for the users they refer to us.
  • Improve your Sky Games experience by providing anonymised analytics.
  • Deliver features and content (for example we might want to see how many customers visited the homepage yesterday compared to last week).
  • Detect and defend against fraud and other security risks to protect our customers, partners and Sky Games itself.
  • Meet our legal, compliance and regulatory duties.
  • Continually improve our products and services (for example, by testing different product experiences with different users to see which the best is).

As outlined in the summary above, there are many different types of, and uses for, cookies. However, they can be grouped in the following four main groups: (1) strictly necessary, (2) functionality, (3) targeting and (4) analytical. Further detail about how and why Sky Games uses each of this type of cookie can be found in the detail below:

Cookies on Sky Games websites

Our websites use the following cookies:

Type of cookie:

Strictly necessary - some are session and persistent cookies. Some of these cookies are set by third parties such as Infinity Works Consulting and GFM.

What do they do?

These are cookies which are needed to provide the content, product or service you have asked for. These cookies are essential to help your device download or stream information, so that you can move around our websites and use their features. Without these cookies, we can’t provide the content, products or services you've asked for.

How do we use this type of cookie?

Here are a few examples of some of the ways in which we use functionality cookies:

  • positioning information on your smartphone screen, tablet device or other screen so that you can see and use our websites;
  • keeping you logged in during your visit so that you don’t have to log in on every one of our websites each time you visit;
  • enabling you to stream content, without having to repeatedly adjust your volume and viewing settings; and
  • allowing you to navigate through our websites smoothly by identifying your device or browser and subsequently showing the most appropriate format of website.

Do these cookies collect my personal data? Does the information get passed onto third parties?

Yes, some of these cookies do collect your personal data and some of your personal data may be passed onto third parties such as Infinity Works Consulting and GFM.

Links to more information:

Page 8 – 9 of this guide, provided by the ICO, details the types of cookies in more detail: https://www.cookielaw.org/media/1096/icc_uk_cookiesguide_revnov.pdf

Type of cookie:

Functionality. Some of these cookies are set by third parties such as OpenBet, and GetClicky.

What do they do?

These cookies recognise you when you return to our website and allow us to remember the choices you make. They also help us to provide improved features.

How do we use this type of cookie?

Here are a few examples of some of the ways in which we use functionality cookies:

  • remembering your preferences and settings, including language, location and marketing preferences (such as choosing whether you wish to receive marketing information);
  • remembering the selections in your betslip;
  • remembering if you've used a specific application or website before;
  • showing you information that's relevant to the content, products or services that you receive;
  • giving you access to content provided by social-media websites, such as Twitter; and
  • showing 'related article' links that are relevant to the information you're looking at.

Do these cookies collect my personal data? Does the information get passed onto third parties?

Yes, some of these cookies do collect your personal data. Some of these cookies don't collect personal data, but we do sometimes pass on this anonymised data to third parties such as Maxymiser.

Links to more information:

Page 8 – 9 of this guide, provided by the ICO, details the types of cookies in more detail: https://www.cookielaw.org/media/1096/icc_uk_cookiesguide_revnov.pdf

Type of cookie:

Targeting. Some of these cookies are set by third parties such as TeaLeaf, Revenue Science, Google and Oddschecker.

What do they do?

We sell space on some of our websites to advertisers. The resulting adverts often contain cookies which are stored onto your device as you visit different websites. The advertiser uses the browsing information collected from these cookies to:

  • restrict the number of times you are shown a particular advertisement. This is sometimes called 'frequency capping'; and
  • show other advertisements that are relevant to you, while you're accessing our information.
Your browsing activity may be grouped with information about what is being accessed by other users within similar interest and demographic groups. The result is then used to show you advertisements based on those interests. This is often called online behavioural advertising (OBA).

How do we use this type of cookie?

Here are a few examples of some of the ways in which we use targeting cookies:

  • to remember websites you have visited;
  • to remember links you have followed; and
  • within advertisements for our own Sky Games products.

Do these cookies collect my personal data? Does the information get passed onto third parties?

Yes, some of these cookies do collect your personal data.

Page 8 – 9 of this guide, provided by the ICO, details the types of cookies in more detail: https://www.cookielaw.org/media/1096/icc_uk_cookiesguide_revnov.pdf

Type of cookie:

Analytical. Some of these cookies are set by third parties such as Omniture, and Google.

What do they do?

Analytical cookies gather information about which of our websites, information and links are popular and which ones don't get used as much. Our applications, web locations, websites and communications that you get from us also contain small invisible images known as 'web beacons' or 'pixels'. These ‘pixels’ simply let us know that an advert or affiliate partner has successfully connected a customer to Sky Games. For example, when a new customer successfully registers on a Sky Games website after clicking an advert, a “pixel” will let us know that the advert worked or that we need to pay an affiliate partner for sending a new customer to us. These pixels cannot identify an individual user. Your information is collected and grouped together with information collected from everyone else’s devices. These cookies don’t identify you and all the data is collected and aggregated anonymously. We can then see overall patterns of usage, rather than any one person’s activity.

How do we use this type of cookie?

Here are a few examples of some of the ways in which we use Analytical cookies:

  • to identify trends about how people navigate (find their way through) our information and when and where 'error messages' may originate;
  • to help us keep our information relevant and up to date;
  • to count the number of times a page or email has been viewed and allow us to measure the effectiveness of the communication; and
  • to improve how our applications, and websites and their pages work.

Do these cookies collect my personal data? Does the information get passed onto third parties?

Yes, some of these cookies collect some personal data. We pass on both anonymised and personal information collected onto third parties such as Omniture and Google
